1. Design & Compliance

  • Designed for Class A–D heavy service per CMAA Specification No. 74, ensuring compliance with deflection limits.

2. Girders & End Trucks

  • Girders: Reinforced wide flange beams; longer spans use welded plate box sections with reinforcing diaphragms.
  • End Trucks: Made of rectangular steel tubes, braced for rigidity, and feature easily replaceable wheel assemblies.
  • Standard Wheelbases: 6’-0”, 7’-6”, and 9’-0”, with longer options available for special runway conditions.

3. Wheels & Rail Compatibility

  • Material: 7” diameter, double-flanged C-1040 steel, hardened to 400-450 BHN.
  • Tolerances: Machined to CMAA 74 standards for ASCE 30# or 40# rails, with customization for other rail types.

4. Drive System

  • Gearboxes: Hollow shaft worm gear reducers, oil-bath lubricated, with direct mounting to drive axles.
  • Drive Motors: Single motor with cross drive shaft for short spans; dual drives for longer spans.
  • Alternative Gear Reducers: Helical/spur gear reducers available when required.

5. Bridge Motors & Speeds

  • Motor Type: TEFC, NEMA B squirrel cage induction, inverter-compatible, continuous duty.
  • Operating Range: -5° to +40°C ambient temperature.
  • Standard Speeds: 63 or 80 FPM (2-speed AFD).
  • Optional Speeds: 52, 105, 125, or 160 FPM, with custom speeds available.

6. Electrical & Controls

  • Power Supply: 208/230/460-3-60, with other voltages available.
  • Control System: Adjustable frequency drive (AFD) with dynamic braking, overload protection, magnetic mainline contactor, and NEMA 3R enclosure.
  • Bridge Conductors:
    • Motorized Cranes: Festooned flat cable on C track.
    • Hand-Geared Cranes: Tagline-type system.

7. Finish & Optional Features

  • Coating: Blast cleaned, primed, and finished in safety yellow.
