TURNKEY SOLUTIONS

Commercial Architectural Railing Systems

CraneVeyor delivers end-to-end railing solutions built to elevate any space. From concept and engineering to precision fabrication and expert installation, we specialize in architectural railing systems that are innovative, secure, and built to last.

OVERALL PRODUCT IN PLACE

The concept of a structurally sound guardrail system, with no obstruction to the view, and yet prevent any penetration whatsoever, is made possible with CraneVeyor’s ClearVue 100 structural glass rail system.

ClearVue 100 has been issued a City of Los Angeles Research Report number (RR25084) which requires strict testing from an independent testing laboratory as well as the City’s own thorough review of the product. Copies of this report are available upon request.

Tempered Glass panels 1/2 inch thick are supported by a contiguous structural metal base anchored to a steel embed or stair stringer. Glass panels can be clear, colored or opaque with a custom design or logo etched into the glass. The metal base may be embedded into the concrete, covered with sheet metal trim to match the top rail, or built into a curb.

A decorative top rail is cemented to the glass to protect the top edge and complete the railing system.

On stairs and ramps, a handrail can be attached to the glass with brackets mounted through the gaps between the glass panels of through holes in the glass.

PRODUCT PRESENTATION

Design Information for Glass

Glass panels should be dimensioned so that the minimum length is 1′-0 and the maximum length does not exceed 6′-0. The top rail should extend across three glass panels, terminate to the floor or attach to a wall.

When holes in tempered glass are required, the diameter of the hole must be at least 1/16″ greater than the thickness of the glass. The distance from the edge of the hole to the edge of the glass must be at least 1/2 times the thickness of the glass on glass that is 1/2″ thick or less and 2 times the thickness for glass over 1/2″. Notches and cutouts must have fillets, the radius of which must be equal to or greater than the thickness of the glass.

Typical Section

ClearVue 100 is a structural glass railing system with no vertical posts to obstruct the view. A structural metal base holds 1/2 inch tempered glass and the top rail of your choice.

COMPONENTS

Top Rails

Top rails may be metal or wood. Wood top rails are custom made to order. Metal top rails in aluminum, stainless steel and brass are stocked in 20′-0 lengths. Sizes and shapes of metal top rails are shown on this page.

Finishes

Parts and top rails shown on this page can be supplied with the standard finished show in the suggested specification below.

Accessories

All necessary accessories are available to complete the ClearVue 100 Structural Glass Rail System. Bends, miters, sheet metal trim, setting blocks, splice sleeves and glass can be made to order. The structural base can be counter bored at 12 inches on center for 1/2″ diameter socket head cap screws.

OVERALL PRODUCT IN PLACE

The ClearVue Panel Railing System is an economical aluminum railing system that offers a new dimension in clear, tinted or translucent panels railings. A standard 1/2″ reglet is used to accept any 1/4″ thich infill panel (glass, expanded metal, wood, etc.). The infill panels are retained in the top and bottom rails with vinyl glazing sections (may be wet glazed at glaziers option). In addition to the variety of infill panels, ClearVue 350 can be supplied with three different top rails.

When all of the variations noted above are combined with the wide variety of finishes (painted or anodized) available for aluminum, the ClearVue Panel Rail Series offers dozens of possible railing configurations for your review.

ASSEMBLY DETAILS

A locking bar clamps the post sleeve to the top rail when the locking bolt is tightened. The sleeve is held in the post by two set screws. The bottom rail is retained within a hole bored through the post and locked from rotation with a tapered drive pin at one end. The bottom rail can be single lengths between the posts or a continuous rail through two or more posts. The pull in vinyl glazing is installed on one side of the top and bottom rails prior to assembly. The roll in vinyl glazing is rolled into place after the glass panels are set.

OVERALL PRODUCT IN PLACE

Low In Cost

CV Pipe Rail posts and parts are prefabricated on a production basis. Field verification and custom fabrication are essentially eliminated. Horizontal rails are easily cut to length at the jobsite by the installers. Therefore, the combination of (A) low cost production parts, (B) elimination of special detailing and precise field measurements, and (C) the economics of installing a lightweight aluminum railing from standard components ordered from stock, has produced a lower net cost.

Strength

CV Pipe Rail incorporates interlocking parts which are internally welded. THERE ARE NO MECHANICAL FASTENERS (SCREWS, BOLTS OR TOGGLERS) TO CORRODE OR WORK LOOSE. Sleeves are 1/8″ wall drawn aluminum tubing made to slip fit into the CV Pipe Railing. The efficient use of welds and machined fittings insures the structural integrity of the CV Pipe Rail system. Where heavy loading conditions are anticipated, a reinforcing tube or a solid reinforcing bar can be inserted into the post for additional strength.

Maintenance

Aluminum’s natural barrier against the sun and the weather reinforced by a durable Class 1anodized finish makes CV Pipe Rail a true low maintenance handrail system. Cleaning anodized aluminum usually requires no more than a moderate spray of water. If a heavy stain is encountered, a mil detergent used with water and a sponge or soft brush should solve the problem.

ASSEMBLY DETAILS

CV Pipe Rail Standards

CV Pipe Rail (horizontal rails and posts) are fabricated from 1.500 inch schedule 40 aluminum alloy 6063-T6. We also stock handrail components fabricated from 1.500 inch O.D. material, which makes the CV Pipe Rail system A.D.A. compliant. Our pipe is specially extruded to one half normal pipe tolerances. This attention to detail provides a unifrom wall thickness and an exceptional external finish that is not generally seen on other aluminum pipe rail systems. Sleeves are produced from drawn tube alloy 6063-T832 sized for optimum fit into the CV Pipe Rail System.

Easy Assembly

CV Pipe Rail is assembled in the field from stock parts (custom fabrication is available). End posts, intermediate posts and corner posts are placed as required. Horizontal rails are cut to length at the jobsite by the installers. Assembly simply becomes cutting the horizontal rails to length, attaching the rails to the posts, aligning and grouting (or bolting). Complete installation instructions are available upon request.

VERTICAL BAR RAILINGS

VERTICAL BAR RAILINGS – A standard of excellence in aluminum railings. Vertical bar railings provide an effective means of preventing persons from falling off balconies or platforms. The vertical bar (or picket) is spaced per code to prevent people from passing through the rail. The railings are supported by posts which are sized and spaced to develop the structural strength required by the building code.

FIT-O-MATIC RAILS – Designed for use on structures with repeat balconies, Railtec Fit-O-Matic rail is an economical system that automatically fits an opening with a variance of 2 inches or less. Normally designed for a typical 12′-4″ unit width, these panels can span up to 15′-0″ with 20 pounds per foot residential loading. No posts are required, only deck brackets and end supports. This system is ideal for hotel and motel use with multiple floors.

ADVANTAGES OF RAILTEC

  • Architecturally pleasing lines
  • Economy
  • Strength
  • Fully concelaed, tamper proof connections
    Simplicty and adaptibility
  • Low Maintenance anodized aluminum

The basic features of Railtec are covered by U.S. and foreign patent #3498589, #3608938, #3620505, #3756567 and #3770245.
